At mammoth of the final day of my mini-vacation with Ray, my mom and baby Sho. Weather is great, our pad in the village is dope, couldn’t ask for more but it all seems depressing in ways. I am having a great time but it’s a different sort of “great”. We have come to this place so many times in our pre-kid/pre-marriage life and have so many fond memories here. Thinking of the old school “blue flame” (Courtesy of Bighead Fred), Simon burning his eyes out, Arnold and Sandy cruising in his beat up Civic (that actualy made it) makes me depressed. Those are probably my most fondest memories, 6 of us poor, young, straight out of college, friends sharing a small studio slumming but having the time of our lives. Now 10-11 years later we are all practically married and have kids, I am staying in a nice pad, I rented a van to get here, and I got a season pass. You would think, I am on drugs but honestly both lives are great but I just feel like life is passing me by, next thing I know I will be too old to ride. Anyone need a babysitter? I guess in ways I am happy I do have all these memories however at time they depress me. Long live Mammoth won’t be the first or the last and so the new chapter begins. Ray, “remember when we first brought Sho to Mammoth?”.
