Acts of kindness.

February 26th, 2009 — 02:11 am

This is probably one of the greatest acts of kindness someone has given me, aside from Mr. Sebbo helping me when I got stung by a bee when I was in kindergarden. What you see in the image is a mini sushi plate my “regular” sushi chef, “A” (Hama Sushi, JTown, Los Angeles, Ca.) made for my newborn son Sho. He did this as a complete suprise to me and just spring it on me, I know I sound like a bitch, but I truly was in “awe” when he gave this to me. It was truly a suprise and was one of the coolest things I have ever seen, let alone for my son and not for myself. I will attach another image just to show you the scale of the mini sushi plate. But seriously I don’t know if I was drunk or what, but this what such a cool thing for a “relative stranger” to do for me for really touched me. Really cool stuff. Notice the keys in relation to the sushi.

Congratulations.

Congrats to Mitsuko and Mike! Wedding was great on Sunday, good to see old friends, and throw a few down. Check out this badass ice chiller/ sculpture for the vodka! Drinks were so good I threw up on my bed, the sheets, the blanket, the bedspring skirt, the carpet, Sho’s blanket, my shirt, my boxers and all over my thigh Monday morning. Awesome man!

Day 28,29,30,31,32,33

February 25th, 2009 — 04:24 am

Ok so I cheated. Life, work, Sho has kept me busy. So I am jamming 6 days into one post to get caught up. Where do I start Sho during this time passed his 1 month anniversary since joining the “human race”. Since then there were a few days that were utter hell, days when Sho would be yelling, Ray would be yelling at me and me yelling at her, it was like a yelling contest. When Sho is in a bad mood we are usually thrust into a bad mood as well. What can one do when a baby just cries for hours on end? You try this then that, burp him, feed him, clean him, sleep him, if all else fails bride him? He doesn’t even know he is alive. I used to think people were crazy when they had babies and then seperate. It never made sense to me, but going through this I have a much better understanding of how demanding and stressful parenting can be especially for mothers. I think through all of this it’s important to sit back and take the experience, the good and the bad and take it for face value and perhaps don’t take things too personally. More importantly don’t forget why you had the kid in the first place. I guess for me I am learning a lot, I do feel isolated at times but sometimes you have to be a team player until things return and if they don’t then you must adjust (for the greater good). After all though I feel like I am a kid, there is actually a new kid on the block. But life is still good, good or bad it’s all great experiences that I will cherish. Sho is growing so fast.

Day 27: Multitasking.

February 20th, 2009 — 08:32 pm

Sho has been acting like a kid on crack, after his circumcision he has been pretty fiesty as of late. It’s really hard to work and deal with him going apeshit. Check out my new home office setup!

Day 26: Y2K Compliant.

February 17th, 2009 — 05:44 pm

Sho’s graduated from national geographic/ape status, from 3rd world to 1st with a snip of a blade (no offense to those of you who still rock the water weenie type “one eyed snake”). Poor Sho got circumsized today but just moments after he still looked ok, suprising after getting your skin flute shortened a bit, Sho looked as good as new. It’s so sad seeing your baby get carted off to go under the knife but it’s a necessary evil, but honestly I almost walked out of the doc office. I figure better now than when he is like in high school and asks “is it normal to feel like needles are coming out of my penis when I pee?”

Day 25: The easy life.

February 17th, 2009 — 11:06 am

There is nothing more Sho likes than being in the water. Even the first time he touched water he barely cried and now just the sound of the running water makes him chill. I can even put some of his face in the water or water can get in his ears or eyes and he just sits there. The otherday he actually fell asleep in the tub and we had to raise him out of the water and blow on him to wake him up. Funny maybe Sho will become a Navy Seal or some crazy gnarly surfer (from Whittier hahah). T-steet baby!

Day 24: Matix visits again.

February 17th, 2009 — 02:02 am

Well Matix and Co. dropped by again and helped out with Sho while I was building shelves for Sho’s room. The room is coming together nicely now, adding finishing touches to make it have that personal touch. It’s nice finally having a kid to occupy it since up until a few months ago I was slaving away for a mystery kid.

Day 23: I got slimmed. (again)

February 14th, 2009 — 10:52 am

Look how far the stream of mustard shot out. You can barely make out Sho in the top of the image, it clear made it past the changing table and a good amount got onto my leg. That’s the first time I got it on myself other than my hand. Sho loves keeping a suprise for me, his diaper is always boogie trapped!
